Longest run since the stress fracture!

Athletes know that injury comes with the territory and that it’s part of what we do. However, many of us still find it unfair, frustrating, intolerable, stressful, and downright miserable when it happens. Yet, getting down does little to speed healing and a negative head space may actually slow healing. So, today I choose to celebrate the fact that I ran a very solid 26 solid kms–the longest run to date since I returned to training following a stress fracture in my foot, (as well as a torn plantar fascia and torn interosseous muscle in the same foot!). But, I am so happy to get back to the kind of long runs that make one feel utterly spent…hungry…and totally ready for a nap! I love it.

I am posting a picture here of the new Trek Toronto Triathlon Team taken by my lovely photographer friend David Whillans. We had fun at our photo shoot. Thanks David!
